New Vanity Pets

Collector's Edition pet: Frosty the Frost Wyrm Whelpling (Screenshot thanks to WarcraftPets.com.)
Mr. Chilly (Unconfirmed): Possibly the same as above. (From what I can gather as of the last patch by reading the in-game mail message, Chilly is a thank-you gift for players who link their WoW account to a Blizzard account.)
Ghostly Skull (Unconfirmed): Right Click to summon and dismiss your ghostly skull.
Haunted (Unconfirmed): Right Click to summon and dismiss Scourge Haunt.
Baby Shark: Right Click to summon and dismiss your Baby Shark He really requires water. (Purchased from Arena Vendor Morgan Day in Lake Wintergrasp. Screenshots: Vendor, Pet Window, Underwater.
Reeking Pet Carrier: Right Click to summon and dismiss your pet skunk, Stinker. (Gained by completing the "Shop Smart, Shop Pet...Smart" Achievement: Obtain 50 vanity pets.)
Giant Sewer Rat: A very rare minipet, the Giant Sewer Rat, can be caught from Dalaran's Underbelly (sewers). (source - El's Extreme Anglin' for link and Confirmed by fishing it.)

Breanni (Pet Supplier), located in Dalaran City, Northeast side of the center square (Look for all the horses standing outside). Looks kind of like a Bass Pro Shop on the inside, at loc 57.8 , 41.0 and supplies the following:

Fetch Ball: Costs ~50s. Has 5 charges. (Screenshots: Pet fetching and then returning the Fetch Ball.)
Rope Pet Leash: Costs ~70s. (Screenshot of leash in action.)
Pet Grooming Kit Makes your pet shine.
Happy Pet Snack Puts a heart of he pet's head, similar to the hearts during Love is in the Air.

This NPC is modeled after the creator of WarcraftPets.com, Breanni, a gnome mage.

Vanity Pet Storage Changes

The New Pet/Mount System Interface

To help easy storage concerns in the new expansion, Blizzard is implementing an entirely new system in which all Vanity Pets and Mounts and learned like spells and stored in an interface much like that of a Hunter's pets. This interface is accessible off of the Character sheet. (See the image at left.)

From the official EU Beta Forums:

We’re pleased to announce a convenient upgrade to the way that mounts and vanity pets are handled in Wrath of the Lich King.

Players will be able to “learn” a mount or non-combat pet much like learning a spell, recipe, or new ability, and these creatures will then show up on a new Pet tab within the Character Info section of the interface. Players will be able to access and preview their learned mounts and vanity pets through this tab.

Once learned, the pet icon or mount icon will no longer appear in bag spaces or bank spaces. This inventory space will be made available once again for other adventuring needs. Pets can still be set to hotkeys by dragging them to the hotkey bar, or used in a macro by shift-clicking them, much like any other spell or ability.

Heirloom Items

Items that scale with level and are bound to your account have been added. They are only available from PvE at this time.

General

09/11/08: "Binds to Account" + New Badge Vendors (Source)

You guys have discovered our Heirloom items. These (as you know) are Bound to account, which means you can mail them to any character on the same realm. They also scale with level. So you can mail these to a level one character and it will have appropriate stats (although slightly uber) for about 10 levels and then the item scales in power again, all the way up to how you're seeing it now.

We're also going to add some Bind on Account non-scaling items for higher level alts. in the future.

It's great to see such a positive reaction to the Heirloom items. Let me elaborate on how these work for everyone.

1) Heirloom items Bind to Account. This means you can mail them between other characters on your account of the same faction.

2) Heirloom items' stats scale to the level of the person wearing them.

3) Heirlooms' power is equivalent to a blue item of the characters level.

4) Heirloom armor pieces will transform based on the type of the gear the character is capable of wearing. That is to say Heirlooms that are Plate on a level 80 character will be mail when equipped by a level 1-39 character who can wear plate. Items that are Mail on a level 80 character, such as Herod's Shoulders, will be equippable by people who can wear Mail armor at level 40.

We wanted to add something to the game for people interested in trying new classes or who just generally love playing alts, and what's more fun than using an Arcanite Reaper on your level 1 Warrior ;)

We are intending to expand where we use the "Account Bound" flag over time but for now Heirlooms are the only items that work this way. We also intend to expand the types of ways that Heirlooms can be attained but for now they are only purchasable via Emblems of Heroism (the new BoJ) and Stone Keeper's Shards, which are attained by killing any dungeon boss in Northrend while your faction controls Wintergrasp.

As for enchanting these items, they can only be the recipient of anything that you could put on a level one item.

Originally we wanted these to be transferable to any character on any account you own. Unfortunately we were unable to make this happen for Lich King. Ideally I would like to see these transferable to any same server same faction character on any account a player owns. If this becomes possible in the future it is certainly something we will look into. I own five accounts myself so I'm right there with you all.

Heirlooms do not cross any boundaries except those that you would expect them to. Plate items become mail pre-40, pail items become leather pre-40. A cloth Heirloom is still a cloth item. Currently the only Heirloom types available are weapons, shoulders, and trinkets, in time we will expand on this.

As far as how they are attained, your point is definitely something that we are aware of and after the system has had more time to solidify itself in game we will consider expanding the number of ways that they can be attained.

Racials Change

Kalgan has posted about a variety of changes being made to Racial Abilities in the near future:
Orc:

Hardiness now reduces the duration of stun effects by 15%

Troll:

Racial Passive "The Voodoo Shuffle": Reduces the duration of all movement impairing effects by 15%. Trolls be flippin' out mon!
Berserking: no longer has an activation cost of energy/rage/etc

Draenei:

Gift of the Naaru: The amount healed is increased based on the caster's Spell Power or Attack Power, whichever is higher. This ability does not lose casting time from taking damage.
Shadow Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Shadow spells by 2%

Dwarf:

Frost Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Frost spells by 2%
Racial Passive "Mace Specialization": Expertise with Maces and Two-Handed Maces increased by 5.

Undead:

Shadow Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Shadow spells by 1% (yes, this is lower than the other resistance racials)
Will of the Forsaken: removes any fear, sleep, or charm effect (no longer has a lasting immunity).

Night Elf:

Quickness: reduces the chance to be hit by melee or ranged attacks by 2%
Nature Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Nature spells by 3%
Shadowmeld: "Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Any threat is restored versus enemies still in combat upon cancellation of this effect." It has a cooldown of 3 minutes, and it can be used in combat. In PvP it will force enemies targeting you to detarget you. It will cause any mobs currently on you to de-aggro, but it does not take you out of combat unless you are the last one on the hate list of any mobs that you were engaged with. It should be noted that the 5 extra points of passive stealth value is still there, however it isn't written in the shadowmeld tooltip. It is now just its own passive effect called "Elusiveness".

Tauren:

Endurance: now scales based on base health, to be tuned to approximately a 5% heath increase if the player were wearing green quality gear
Nature Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Nature spells by 2%

Gnome:

Escape Artist: the freeing effect can no longer be resisted
Arcane Resistance: reduces the chance to be hit by Arcane spells by 2%

Blood Elf:

Mana Tap: ability removed (partially integrated into Arcane Torrent)
Arcane Torrent: restores 15 energy, 15 runic power, or 6% of mana to the Blood Elf (along with the current 2s silence effect)
Magic Resistance: Now reduces the chance you will be hit by spells by 2%.

Human:

Perception: changed to a passive, now grants one character level of passive stealth detection
Every Man for Himself: Removes all movement impairing effects and all effects which cause loss of control of your character. This effect shares a cooldown with other similar effects, such as the PvP trinket. This essentially means that you gain flexibility regarding what to do with your second trinket slot.
Racial Passive "Human Supremacy": The dominance of Humanity is evidenced by having one more racial bonus than normal. Actually, make that two counting this one. (just a tooltip, no actual functionality)
The Human Spirit: spirit bonus lowered to 5%
